12480 Layer Chicks have arrived in Poultry Farm from Hatchery on 23-April-2021 at time 6:00 AM. Poultry Farm is situated in Punjab where evening temperature inside shed is 22 Celsius.

Highlights of Day 1 - Arrival of Chicks
---3 Hours before Arrival of Chicks
1. Start Bhukharies(Wood Burners) as Temperature Inside shed is 22 Celsius and temperature required for Layer Chicks is 32 Celsius.
2. Start Diesel Heaters for Quick Heating of Farm Shed before Arrival of Chicks to maintain Temperature.
3. Floor space required inside cage is 18 square inch per bird. Calculate number of chicks in each cage according to floor space requirement.
4. Switch on All Light Bulbs. Light should Remain On for 23 to 24 hours as Day Length required is minimum 23 Hours.
5. Chick Drinkers Ready for Each Cage.
6. Gatta (Cardboard) or Paper for Cage Floors because due to small size of chicks these can get stuck in cage floor mesh. More over chicks will learn to pick feed from feeders slowly. Till then feed should be provided on cardboard.
7. Nipple Water Line Height Adjusted.
8. Temperature Maintained at 32 Celsius.
9. Shakkar(Jaggery) mix in Water. 5 Kg shakkar is used in 25 Liters of Water.
---At the Time of Arrival of Chicks
10. Try to segregate weak chicks in separate cages so that extra care can be provide to these chicks.
11. Weight of Chicks is in range 34 grams to 42 grams.
12. Provide Shakkar(Jaggery) water in chick drinkers immediately to reduce travel stress.
13. After 6 to 7 Hours Fill all the feeders with Layer Chick Crumbs Feed so that Layer Chicks can start lerning to pick feed from feeders.
13. Provide feed on Cardboard or Paper also so that Chicks for easy access to chicks till they learn to eat feed from feeders.
