Poultry Farm is situated in Punjab where evening temperature inside shed is 22 Celsius.

Highlights of Day 0 - Preparation Day
1. Ready Wood for Bhukharies(Wood Burners) as Temperature Inside shed is 22 Celsius and temperature required for Layer Chicks is 32 Celsius.
2. Ready Diesel Heaters for Quick Heating of Farm Shed before Arrival of Chicks to maintain Temperature.
3. All Light bulbs should be working properly. Light Intensity required for Chicks is above 20 Lux. Light should Remain On for 23 to 24 hours as Day Length required is minimum 23 Hours.
4. Chick Drinkers Ready for Each Cage. Chicks are small and will not be able to drink water from Nipple Drinkers on Day 1. Chicks will learn to drink water from Nipple Drinkers Slowly.
5. Gatta (Cardboard) or Paper for Cage Floors because due to small size of chicks these can get stuck in cage floor mesh. More over chicks will learn to pick feed from feeders slowly. Till then feed should be provided on cardboard.
6. Nipple Water Line Height Adjustment is required according to Height of chicks.
7. Thermometers should be placed on multiple locations inside shed for proper temperature monitoring.
8. Shakkar(Jaggery) to mix in Water for 24 to 48 Hours. ---15 Days before Arrival of Chicks
9. Burn wire mesh of cages with Flame Gun.
10. Soak floor with solution of Caustic Soda for 24 Hours. Then wash with Water.
11. Spray Formalin Solution on Floor.
12. Fill whole watering system with Hydrogen Peroxide Solution and keep it over night. Flush the system with plain water 2 to 3 times to remove the solution.
