Highlights of Day 10 - Debeaking of Chiks
1. Chickens form Pecking Order. They can Peck each other to Death. To stop this Cannibalistic Behavior (killing each other)
Debeaking is very important. Only less than a third of the beak is trimmed. The pain felt is not more than nose or ear-piercing.
To prevent strong birds from killing weak birds, Debeaking is very important.
In this video you will learn how to properly execute the process of Beak Trimming using automatic Debeaking Machine having
Electrical heated blades. Dip the beak in Ice Cold Water immediately after trimming of Beak.
2. Vitamin K3 is a Coenzyme. One or two days before and after debeaking providing Vitamin K3 in water will shorten blood clotting time,
prevent bleeding and reduce mortality in Chicks. Required dose is 50 gm per 3000 birds. So for 12300 birds (12300*50/3000) 200 gm
(4 pouch of 50 gm each) of Vitamin K3 is mixed in water tank.
3. 15 Tablets of paracetamol are mixed in water tank twice a day.
4. Temperature maintained at 30 Celsius.
5. Feed used - Layer Chick Crumbs.
6. Current Day Length is 21 hrs.
7. Vitamino Acido liquid is used 50 ml per 1000 chicks. For 12480 Chicks liquid required is 12480*50/1000 = 625 ml.
200 Liters Water tank of Nipple Drinkers is fully consumed by chicks 2 time in 24 hrs. So 315 ml of Vitamino Acido Liquid is mixed in Water tank of Nipple Drinkers twice a day.
8. Required dose of Probiotic is 25 gms per 1000 birds. So for 12480 Chicks probiotic required daily is 12480*25/100 = 312 gms.
So 312 gms of Probiotic is mixed in water single time a day and used to Fill Chick Drinkers.
9. Day 9 Mortality is 4 Birds.
